Weaving is an ancient craft that goes back centuries in Mexico where fabrics are still imbued with symbolism through patterns and bright colours. One of the great emblems of this handicraft is the poncho, an outerwear item as treasured for its rich heritage and as it is for its modern-day use all across South America. This pure cotton poncho with bold stripes in contrasting hues and motifs was spun for Colville by a small Mexican artisan community using time-honoured techniques. Adhering to tradition, the Colville poncho has a long fluid fringe. It is wonderfully lightweight and incredibly versatile, not to mention impeccably stylish. Wear it over a bikini, track bottoms or evening wear - it goes with absolutely everything and makes for a perfect travel companion.
